the 5k might not seem like much of a difference, but all the time and maintenance dollars spent if you keep it may add up to something significant. it would be much better to spend your resources on the house if it needs it. you can always buy another car later.

Keep the car, you'll never find anyone who'll pay what you need to get out of it.

I won't bore you with what I paid for a townhouse out here in California but 160k for a house sounds like heaven to me. Put as much as you can into the down payment because you will reduce your monthly payment and reduce the amount the bank gets in interest over time. Keep it for a few years and build up some equity then you can get another 944.

If you REALLY want to keep the car, speak to a mortgage broker about a 100% loan (generally they are structured as 80/20 loans) where you only have to pay the closing costs.

WOW....thanks, Yieldsign.....I have really taken care of her and she runs real good....shifts smooth and quiet....handles great, too.

I know that some of you are saying that a $160,000 is cheap but aruund thses parts we don't make alot of money like they do in California....the property is REAL nice in a real nice area and even has a guest house for my recording studio and a 2 car garage.....

but in all honesty I don't think I have to sell her.........

I didn't mean to imply the house you are purchasing is cheap. A man's house is his castle and yours sounds great. We just live in two different worlds.

$3.5k-5K on your down payment won't make a huge impact on your monthly payment. Over 30yrs you might save about 2.5 times that amount total on what the bank takes out of your pocket. You would have to ask your loan guy what you would save on the monthly.

Your car does look great and you should save it if you can, good luck.

Keeping the 944 might even prevent the common practice of buying a new car shortly after getting the new house.
