I'll talk to Mike and maybe I can just pick him up and he can go with me. Otherwise I'm kinda hesitant on heading out with just directions.

Hey Alex, I am not 100% in yet, but I think i am 99.9% in. If you want to pick me up, no problem because Manning can bring me home, he lives about 3 blocks from me. Thanks for the offer too. I should hear back from the insurance soon and I should have a solid answer then!

Alex, don't worry about the directions, if you can find QS&L then you can find the Lizard with only the directions I provided above.

Yes, I can drive Mike home after, as long as he doesn't get too overwhelmed by the sheer power of my car

HA, Michael you are too funny!! I will be there for sure, I will take the beater, then I will show you power........ At least my beater can hold 5 people without anyone being crapped and carry luggage all at the same time. Oh yea, got to love the VW SW.

OK, that was a lot of fun. Sorry you missed out Alex.

I did demonstrate to myself how incredibly frighteningly bad my current alignment really is when we went on a drive afterwards. Just so you know Mikes, I wasn't wandering all over the road just because I am that much of a spazz behind the wheel.

Next stop, Steinel's for an alignment.

It was nice putting some faces to the names and seeing your car Manning, it looks nice, and I'll be asking you about that lower valence if I ever get a different 924 thats all beat up underneith. I didn't notice you wandering too much, I was avoiding potholes so I wandered a bit too but that's a fun stretch of road I get to drive every day to work...in the winter in my pickup truck hah.

Potholes, yeah, that's NE Ohio roads for you. That is a nice road other than that though.

My steering was pulling around a lot though because I have an eyeballed alignment still from the last time I worked on the suspension. You can actually see one wheel is kind of more straight and the other is toed out a bit.

Yea, I did notice you Manning, but I still ALMOST keep up with you most of the time in the passat. If I had the turbo I would have just waved good bye We do need to set something up for another time to meet up and see if we can get that list of people I talked about earlier.

Man it was frightening. It was darting all over the place and I didn't feel like I could set the car in corners very well at all so I backed way off. I may hold off until spring to get it aligned though, since I still have the rear suspension to mess with; bigger T-bars and elephant bushings and I will have to wait until after the kitchen is done to work on that.

Manning- I have a set of Lonacre Toe plates - your more than welcome to borrow them and they will help take the guess work out of your alignment. You just need a flat piece of pavement/concrete and some patience and you can string out the car and use the plate and get pretty darn close. I used these as well as a buddies camber gauge after the local shop botched my alignment and while its still not right on its pretty darn close.

Skip,

Thanks offer. I may take you up on that. Did you put together some sort of slip plates as well, or did you find that wasn't really necessary?

Hey Mike, if you do this, let me know. Would like to at least see how it works but I could lend a hand if you need it as well.

No I did it the tedious way. Measure - jack up car - adjust - lower car - roll to settle - remeasure. Its not all that bad - just a little tedious. I also used the string alingment method to make sure the front was square with the rear. The hardest part was finding level concrete.
