Fuel pump limits

Does anyone know the specs on the stock NA fuel pump, How much fuel does it flow? how much HP can it support? Any help would be great, Thanx

I can't quote #s much, but I will say that as you increase the pressure, the flow drops. I know it won't support a stock turbo motor, not sure if it's due to pressure or flow demand but a stock turbo is 217 HP. HTH

I will use an example for you. Let's say you have a hose on the ground with nothing on the end with the water on. Let's say you get 2 gallons a min. Now, what happens when you want to wash your car or clean something? You pinch the end of the hose flowing 2 gallons a min to get higher pressure but now with lower amount of flow. With that, you have built up a pressure on the otherside (coming from the house) there for you have an increase of pressure out of the end. Make sense?

Now that is not an apples to apples example.
Where is the "pinch" in the fuel system.
If you increase the pressure in the fuel system solely by introducing a larger or more powerful pump, you increase the flow.
What do you think Sam, you are still in school and I've been out a few years, did I get it right?

OH yea, I was thinking more of the lines of the regulator in the system. But yes, if you increase the pump size to one that produces higher output given a certain pressure, it will have a higher flow.

Nine-44 i am just curious how you know that it cant support the 217 from a turbo engine. Did dyno it or is there a way you could tell it wasn't big enough while just driving it? I also have a turbo engine in mine and i haven't run into problems....although i might soon. I still have an na pump on there as far as i know.
