Default Confused about getting inner tie rod off rack

Here is the step on Clark's Garage I'm confused about:

"At each end of the rack, there is a small locking notch (about 8mm) which should have the flange of the inner ball joint peened into it. Use the cold chisel to carefully remove the peened portion of the flange."

What on earth does that mean? I see a little hole that goes into the ball joint area, but I'm not sure what they want me to do.

Any help?

There is a small slit cut in the rack (like 1/8th inch or so), the inner tie rod has a flange, it needs to be chiseled into the small slit. It is a mother getting the inner tie rod out.

LOL, yeah I figured it out. I chiseled it back a lot, but now I have to figure out some way to mount the rack in my vise strong enough that I can torque the **** out of that thing and get it off....

I drilled it out last time. I never could get it to come out otherwise.
