http://powerwerks.net/951_gtplw_prod.htm

Will this fit an S2 ??? And would it fit behind the stock 16" D90 wheels??? I want to upgrade my brakes, but i don't want to go with 17" wheels. Any one know the scoop on these?

At the recent Porsche fest, there was a big brake kit (not that one) raffle for NAs and naturally, I was very interested in winning it for my S2. Over the course of the weekend, nearly everyone who discussed it with me indicated that the S2 brakes were already 4 piston brakes and the kit was really overkill. I am not the quinessential wrencher, but I do know that my car stops on a dime, much shorter distances than I expect, this after driving a BMW 5 series as my dd for 8 years and the bmw5 was known for its great brakes.

Our brakes are already 4 piston? Then what is the difference in the M030 brakes? My GTI has the Audi TT brakes and they completely feel much better. They seem a lot more responsive and the stopping seems a lot quicker. Both cars are about the same weight, and similar size. I find when autocrossing the GTI i was able to brake a lot later and faster from the same speeds. Is this just my imagination???????

The S2 has the same 4 piston Brembo brakes as the turbo. The M030 cars have the larger brakes from the 928 S4 (They are aften refered to as the S4 brakes).

So why would larger brakes be overkill? I would think having larger piston calipers and greater rotor surface area used would just stop you faster assuming the tires were up to it. When would braking become overkill ??

Those have even greater brake torque than Big Reds. That is complete overkill, especially when it will also make your car accelerate slower and around the turns.

If you absolutely have to upgrade, source some 928gt/gts brakes.
