Yeah, in all honesty - pull the head and have it rebuilt. Same thing I am having to do, go ahead and replace the chain and tensioner while your at it.

I have had it with this engine.
I had the head rebuilt about 30,000 miles ago.

I use these as daily drivers, so reliability and cost is more important to me then keeping the car orignal.

Hell I can buy a V-8 less then it will cost to have the head rebuilt again.

As far as a time frame, within the next 6 months or so.

Yes, you can buy a V8 for cheap but getting it installed and running is probably $10-15K away.
If you are a good fabricator you can do it for a lot less, but for a lot more time. Then who knows if your trans will hold up?
