Seriously, spraying is about the only easiest way to gain HP on an na. Talk to Fishey about it. On a mustang dyno his S2 Cab went from 183rwhp to 230rwhp with a 50shot.

It's not like Ford can't make good stuff, they just don't. Anything you do to the Mustang will improve it. However, shining a turd only gets your hands really dirty - it's still a turd!

The cheapest way is to take out some stuff on the car for less weight and sell it.

You actually make money on the stuff you sell!

What's the formula for weight reduced to HP gained in a 944na?

Devide HP by weight, In the case of a euro NA model it's ~2800/163 or 17.2 lbs per HP. If he can knock 35 lbs off it would feel like a 2 HP increase.
A US NA weighs a little more (~2900 lbs) and hp varied by year (from 143 to 158 HP) so figure ~20 lbs/hp.
BTW, My engne has everything that a euro engine has, plus some of the proposed mods, plus a few more mods, and if the dyno read 190 at the wheels I'd put money on the dyno being either incorrectly operated or broken. I don't even have 190 at the (lightened) crank!
Let's see;
Milledge cam, probably is god for 10-12 HP but you'll probably lose some low end torque and driveability to get it.
Chip, 1-3 hp for the best of them, some will actually reduce HP. [My chip was probably a wash]
Wires, plugs and MSD, You can't improve on plain old copper plugs in these engines and multi electrode plugs will cost a couple HP. there's nothing to gain from wires either but an MSD (which requires thicker wires) will be good for 1-2 HP at low RPM (no gain at peak HP). [I'm using Bosch copper, Paragon's 8mm wires (Beru ends) and an MSD-6AL, hp increase is minimal and is low end only]
Pulleys, No HP increase but reduces load on the engine so that a couple more HP are available at the rear wheels. I've heard that this is often visible on a dyno but that the gain is not noticable under real world conditions (read "on the road"). [I'm going with "pulley delete" instead, AC is gone and PS is next]
Some times mods don't add up because they were never tested together, even if the cam is good for 10 HP and the chip is good for 3, the chip wasn't meant to go with the cam so together they may only add 11 HP, or less!
I also have many of the mods that were mentioned in his other thread, I doubt I'm making more than 165-170 at the crank!

So can you knock of 500lbs easily?

What is the most you can reduce on an na and keep it streetable? Include the possibility to switch to carbon fiber body parts.
