Default Chrome Tailpipe Tip Trim Info (NA cars only with stock exhaust)

My tailpipe was rotting through at the bottom outside edge of the tip and I had been looking to weld on a new tip. This Porsche OEM trim piece is much easier. It slips over the existing tip and is a pressure fit with a couple of dimples snapping into place. Takes 5 seconds to install. Definitely worth the $45! Part number is 477 253 191 F Here is a pic. I don't know how long it will last, but it sure looks purdy. Howard

I had one on my 84 till last year. It still looked great! The tip was original, looked awesome, and when I had the Magnaflow put on, I had them weld that tip back on cause I liked it so much. When I went to the SFR, I finally ditched it with the magnaflow.

SDGuy,

I am in the same situation. Looks like a good solution. Where did you pick it up, at a dealership or do any of the usual on-line sites have it?

I got it on ebay, but any Porsche dealer should be able to get it. List is $56 I think - maybe try Sunset Porsche if you are far from a dealer - 1-800-346-0182

I recently bought a new tip fom my Canadian Porsche dealerbecause the old one was split by the inner part rusting. So I need a new exhaust end UNDER the chrome sleeve. Anyone help me out as to how to get one? Mine is welded to the exhaust pipe.
Thanks,
Mike
