Default 944S Fuel Quality Switch (is it different?)

A few months ago I tried to richen up my mixture on my S by using the fuel quality switch settings that I previously used on my 84 944. After pulling the spark plugs a few weeks ago, things looked pretty lean. I switched the fuel switch back to the stock setting and pulled the plugs yesterday to find a much richer mixture that was still a tad lean.

This all leads me to believe that there are different fuel quality swtich settings for the S. Does anybody know what they are?

I didn't think the S used the fuel quality switch?
I always thought it just used the knock sensors.

I know no help.
Just another bump.

It has dual knock sensors but still has a FQS...I was hoping FR Wilk could weigh in on the issue if he was still around.
