944 Online- Replaced both driver side switches last year. Just remove seat, cut loose wiring harnesses & re-route and secure new ones- Rebolt seat. Bada Bing

The switches can also be taken apart and cleaned if the plastic is not broken. If it is, then yes, get some switches off of some trashed seats. Might as well clean them before installing them though.

True, but a real PITA! the micro-ball bearings are tough to snap back in place. Even after a couple hours doing just that, the switches still worked intermittently at best. Just spring for the new switches- complete w/ wiring harness. It's nice to know the switches work when you need them. Same thing applies to the sunroof- which I also replaced.

Yeah, I'll buy new switches... They are pretty expensive thought (like everything else on this car).

A tip to help reassemble the switches is to put a dab of di-electric grease to hold the little ball in place. Doing this I was able to clean the switches and re-assemble easily. They work great now. Hope this helps.
