Also, the Saratoga top winner will not need to be present to win, BUT the tickets will only be sold at the 944Fest. Yes, I know, I could make a lot more $$ by opening it up to everyone, but I really want to reward a very lucky attendee. IF you aren't coming to the Fest, give $50 to someone who is and ask them to buy you 3 Saratoga top raffle tickets. The winner, if not present, will have to pay the packing and shipping, which I don't expect to be cheap.

The Rennlist sticker giveaway was pure John/Jen, I've got no info on that. Sadly, I don't have reason to believe they are coming.

EDIT: Yes, we will have Rennlist stickers on hand!

I Know you are kidding, bud.. I've got 20 different things to finish up before the show! Cuz rolls in to town Sat, he'll help a lot. The trophies are almost done, the final touches (wait and see) are simply awesome. These are the best auto related trophies I have EVER seen! The winshield decals still need printed out (waiting on special static cling papers) and registration packets stuffed. I ordered a suction cup external camera mount for my lipstick cam, so we will have crazy cool angles filming on the lead car of the cruise. The caterer is waiting on a head count and Pizza specifics, I just chatted with Schmitty about the cruise route and stoppping points (He did a great job!). I've designed and printed up the ballots, nametags, the registration waivers, the dyno shootout applications, and I still need to do the schedules. There are dozens of signs to make up, marking the cruise route, parking areas, etc. I've got to do other "posters" talking about Saratoga Raffles, Shirt sales, Art exhibits, raffles, etc. I need to make 2 boxes, one for door prize tickets and one for the top raffle. I've custom framed 20 26x28 prints, including cutting the boards, assembling the frames, taping and screwing it all together, etc. My wife (bless her heart) is making a handful of custom 944 related prints to display and sell. The Tshirt just went to ink this week, Thompson and I went around and around with each other and the printer finalizing the work. I bought a data cable to plug my cell phone to my laptop so we can upload images to rennlist as they happen. I need to go buy a couple of kegs. I'll call the Tent rental place soon and bump the tables and chairs orders up a few, and ask them to also bring a few tubs for ice and pop. I need to put a call in to the few sponsors who's prizes haven't showed up yet. I've got to pack up all my tools, hoses, extension cords, artwork, prizes, laptop/printer, digicam, vidcam, etc etc, then drive to THREE different hotels and check in to all of them the same day. (DOH!!$$$$) Did I mention writing a few BIG F*'in checks?

OK, I've whined enough. It's a big job. I think you will enjoy the fruits of my labor!

Wes, do you have any way to go online with the laptop, like a cell? I've never done that before, I have to imagine it will be quite slow. I'll be set with the printing as I need it to upload photo memory sticks with it to the laptop and then rennlist. Friday is starting to sound like it will be more than just setup!

If someone has a data plan on their cell and the cable, you can actually get decent speeds.. with basic no fee except using your minutes service, well, thats like 9600 baud.. Can't really load websites but it's fun to use AIM while on a trip on the highway (not while driving)

Word on the street is that they have an open wireless network at the cottages over the hill.... High speed baby, but it won't reach to the lodge.

Dan, No way atm. But i could bring some stuff with me if this lodge travis is talking about has high speed wireless. I *might* be able to get a connection with a high powered wi-fi antenna.

Just get a nice little panel antenna, and a senao wireless card. If there is an unsecured network within a km or two, you'll get it. If you're on higher ground, with a decent hotspot, you can get it for upwards of 20km's.....
I've never needed a cell-phone data connection, and I do lots of web surfing while I'm away from home.

I personally have a 5.5db gain Omni-directonal antenna that works very well. I can bring some 17-24db grid and directonal antenna's with a 1Mw amplifier. If there is a signal, i'll find it
