Are all timing belts the same?

Geeze, you guys make me paranoid!
The belt kit I just got from Vertex came with Flennor belts. Opinions on these? I've never heard of them.
Also, the rollers it came with seem to have the toothing made of some kind of black plastic or nylon. Were they originally, or were they steel?

I think the rollers now are made with carbon fiber or some type like that. They are also a lot lighter then the old ones. This was what I was told so I don't know. I looked at my new rollers/tensioners and they where lighter and I asked one of the guys that sold them to me about it.

Erich, the belt was not even a year old (at least in my possession) and the car is a daily driver with 0 track time. I do not beat and the original clutch and very very little oil consumption can attest to my driving habits. The car now has 205,000mi. I checked all my rollers and H2O pump and everything was good. There could have been a rub somewhere, but I did not notice anything during my 15k belt tension interval. When I bought the rebuilt head from Ian at 944Online he stated he had been running ContiTech belts for 20 years with no problems. Go figure. Like I said, some have had great luck but I did not this time around. My car has seen other Conti Belts with ZERO problems though. However, after seeing the OE Gates belt, I did not want to go back to the Conti. Just my preference and recomendation.
Best of luck with it, and I hope all goes well.
