Default XP: Correct rear main seal?

I picked this up today, but not sure if it is the correct seal. The guy said it was, but who knows. It says on the sticker:

"99911342641
FLYWHEEL SEAL
911 911T 78+"

I tried to take a pic, but I am at my parent's and their camera is circa 1995, and wont take a pic close up enough to see it. Anyone know if this is the correct part for the rear main? TIA

PET shows 999 113 264 40, I'm sure the different # is the old brown seal/black seal controversy ...sorry it turned out to be the rear main, that's no fun at all. Good Luck

the rear main seal apparently works for both the 944 and several 911 models as well.

see this thread for a pic:

Steve and Joseph, thanks a lot. The guy said it was the "better one." He also tried to sell me a 2.7 turbo engine he built years ago. I asked if he had a throw out bearing, bc I don't think they replaced it when the clutch was done last year, and he told me: "I don't stock any clutch parts for those cars anymore, peole just aren't fixing them anymore." I was like ok thanks, bye! lol

Is there anythign I should look out for while swapping this?

yea, are you pulling the engine?

either way - engine in or out - make sure to clean the seal surface well, lube the seal with some oil or assembly lube, and make sure it is seated all the way. i learned that the hard way, as you can read from my post in the link. the PVC cap works great at seating the seal.
