Why keep the HU at all? With the carputer you can throw on 40gb of mp3's, or you can get a cd changer for the computer, and probably a radio tuner as well, if you listen to the radio. You can also add a gps antenna and software. I would also do a wi-fi card and a wireless keyboard with trackball or pad. You can get a liliput touch screen, and special carputer software so you can control most everything with the touchscreen. I would just ahve the keyboard for typing on the net, etc. You could also datalog and store it in the car, or email it to yourself, right from the car. SMT-6? Screw pulling out a laptop, how about making adjustments right from your console? No wires laying around. It's a damn computer, you can do anything with it.

I have a pic of a professionally installed LCD (although i think it was only about a 6") in the double din area. It looked factory.
I'll upload the photo once I get home from work.

Mother of god that Lilliput is sweet... combined with the micro computer you have a total system... I am not sure the screen dimensionally fits in the console though... hmmm

Ive been continually deciding as to what im going to do in regards to my ICE. Ive currently got my MP3/DVD deck and i did originally buy 2 sunvisor LCD monitors. However i have since sold them and changed my mind in that im now going to install a tv in the dash (centre speaker area) in a easily removable plastic moulding. Im expecting to fit in a 7" monitor quite nicely.
I have attached a photo of a photoshop i did. (Note: the red neon look was under influence from my brother :P)
Anyways i have 3 days to go until my unnivesity exams are finished and it'll be into the car for the following 6 weeks. Cam/balance shaft seals, etc are to fixed before any ICE install first though. Il try keep ppl posted on my progress.

Ive been researching the possiblities of the incar computer for sometime. I want mine to operate the radio, bluetooth phone, and GPS. The lilliput touchscreen monitor appears that it would fit best in the double din slot. Images of the lilliput 7" screen are available in the mp3car store. Trying to work out hardware details at the moment. Here are some of the resources I've been using:
Hardware & Power http://www.carnetix.com/P5V.htm
Store & Forum http://www.mp3car.com/
Phone Software http://www.phonecontrol.net/
Hardware http://www.xenarc.com/index.html
FrontEnd Software http://www.neocarmediacenter.com/?language=EN
Let me know if anyone else has had a successful install and if it was worth it??
