Default Help with Wiring (early fog light switch)

I am having some trouble locating the wiring for the for light switch i'm adding. In the dash i was only able to find one large connector that doesn't match up with he foglight switch and what appears to be the light for the switch.(?)

Can some one help me out and identify this light and connector and maybe point me in the direction of where to look for the fog light plug? Thanks a lot!
Erich

Erich - you've got it. The connector is for the fog light switch. The indicator light for the switch is built in (just like the rear defog switch) . The light in question goes into an opening right next to the fog light switch. It illuminates the left side of the heater control panel through a little window.

The part number on the back of the foglight switch is 944 613 111 00 in case you're wondering.

Yea they don't match up at all. Is there a connector that goes between them?

The switch I have will plug right in to the connector in your pic.. Are you sure you have the correct one?

While you're in there, can you tell me if the clock should be lit with the headlights? Not only does mine work intermittently, it doesn't light up with the other instruments. I have to go in there sometime soon to change the heater core hoses, so this could be a "while I'm in there" project.

Clock has it's own bulb in a holder that plugs into the back. It's the same tiny 1.2 watt bulb used in the other instruments (I think it's a #2721). The ground for the bulb is through the clock case, so there is a spring contact on the side of the bulb holder that connects to the side of the hole it goes into. Cleaning the contact and the inside of the holder up a bit with fine sandpapaer ought to do the trick for you.

You have the wrong switch Erich. Like jpk wrote already, the socket in your picture is the fog lamp socket. The one in my car is just like it.

Thanks everyone for your help. I figured out the problem when George from 944 Ecology called me back and told me i have an Audi switch, he's a great guy and straighten me out right away. A+ for customer service from him.

Also Manning - The wiring sockets for the driving lights...they are the same exact sockets that go on the turn signals right next to them. I checked tonight when i had it all apart. Even the rubber cover fits perfectly to keep things dry. Or i also noted you can actually just plug in the two fog light wires into the back of the driving light (since you are not using the city light) I checked that fit tonight too.

Thanks again for all your help everyone!
Erich
