Default Rear Seat Delete

I built a rear seat delete shelf today.
Now I need to find carpet to cover it with.
Anyone know where to find carpet to match the original??

My rear seat top and bottom weight 34.5#'s
The shelf materials 11.5#'s
weight savings 23#'s

I'm hopeing the carpet is only a couple of pounds.

I purchased a 4x8 sheet of 1/2" styrofoam from Lowes and used it to make
a templete.
I made the top out of 1/2" furniture grade fir.
The front is made out of 3/8" furniture grade oak.

For some reason rennlist won't let me post or upload pics. I can't even change my avatar.

It looks like a 968CS seat delete shelf.

If you want, email them to me, and I will post them up. I want to see how well they look when people do it on their own. I have been thinking of doing this, but don't know how hard it will be to make it look oem. trwright@gmail.com

There was a post not long ago about this, where someone mentioned the maker of the OEM carpet. I am interested to see what you did with the wood where it curves around the wheel wells. Can you get me the measurments?

That's nice! The only probelm I would have, is sometimes i like to chill and lay down by reclining the seat.. doesn't look like the seat would recline as much.

Andrew thanks ,that's a big help

Ted I'll take some more pics .
I just followed the contour of the wheel wells .

The shelf is 16" wide and ~51 3/4" wide.
The front pieces are 9 3/4" tall.

I ordered the Sliver Knit carpet from World Upholstery today.
$57.00/yard.
The most expensive part of this project is going to be the carpet!
I was thinking of using a heavy felt to cover the area where the seat botton
was but don't know how it would look.

If anyone is interested in doing this themselves I can trace the pattern.
Let me know

Todd
Will do.
I never heard back from you about the rear seat??
Also are you parting out the silver rose yet?
I'm curious about the engine.
