Default Power window regulator motor

Is it possible to remove the power window regulator motor and replace with a working motor, or does the entire assembly need to be replaced? My PS window clicks when the button is pushed, either up or down, but no movement whatsoever. The back of the motor -- the cone shaped tip, heats up after a few trys. I'd liek to not have to take the entire thing out if possible.

As an aside, anyone with parts cars have a window regulator motor compatible with an '88 951 regulator F/S?

A few assemblies are on Ebay. I don't think they sell the motor separately.
