the car did have an alarm. an aftermarket one. but we think we got rid of it all. wiring problems are annoying!

Check the ref sensors.

Glad you guys are getting it sorted out. A few buddies and I have spent all weekend with the same no start issue on a DSM.. what a PITA!

Yes, incorrectly gapped speed/reference sensors, or bad wiring to/from them WILL cause both no spark, and no fuel. To go along with it, you will also have no tach wiggling when you turn it over. Ask me how I know. It will also act like this if the speed and reference sensors connectors are swapped.

Although, I don't know if it will cause no power to the injectors, I didn't get that far in the troubleshooting, I checked out the wiring to them, and it fired up after I fiddled for a bit.
