Unhappy No cold air after alternator swap

After i replaced the alternator, i have NO cold air at all. The a/c compressor works fine, the clutch engages.

The pastic clip for the heater is NOT broken, and i checked it's operation as well as everything else.

I have some bubbles from the "glass", but it was ALWAYS there since last year.

No cold air............any ideas???

I know this is gonna sound obvious but,
1. Could you have knocked something loose during the swap?
2. Electrical connections to the compressor ?
3. Is the belt tightende properly?

Good luck

Andre: Everything works, except no cold air.

Freon- Yes
Belt Tension- Set at 80lbs on kriket
Compressor clutch engaging-Yes
Heater Clip broken-No

I am going to check the pressure switch, i MAY have knocked it loose since so many tools kept on falling

Same thing happened to me. It was the wire from the pressure switch on the compressor that runs above the alternater and plugs into a plastic sleeve type connector that is rather long. This connection can pull loose and still look like it is made. The connector on my car had a VW symbol on it and had one wire from the compressor and two wires on the other side of the connector.

Hmmm, i never noticed ANY wire coming out from the compressor area which moves above the alternator and plugs

Do you have a pic ?

Don't have a picture and without the airbox out you can;t really see it. From underneath the car find the wire that is connected to the compressor and route it back to the area just behind the left wheel well. This is where mine was routed. The wire comes down from the valve at the left(drivers) rear of the engine that opens to increase the air flow when the AC runs. It goes from this valve down by the wheel well and connects with the wire coming from the compressor. Keep in mind that mine is an 83, but I would expect this to be the same. Anyway make sure that the wire coming from the compressor was not disconnected when you removed the alternator.
