How do I bench test a digital clock?

What is the bulb size/type that goes into the back of the digital clock? Is it integral to the clock or is it a replaceable part?

It is replaceable and cost about $4.50

hmmm, never knew they lit up. now to gank it out and see if i can replace the bulb.

dont you need to solder the bulb in?
