Default Air/Oil separator seals

On an 86' 944 turbo, are the upper and lower seals on the air/oil separator tube the same diameter? I have the Victor Reinz kit and the only red seals that I think are the correct seals are the same diameter (and they fit). My concern is that the old seals appear to be a bit different in size, the lower is slightly larger. The last thing I want to do is remove all the hardware to get back in there if the seals are wrong size and an oil leak ensues.

I replaced mine, and got them at the dealership. I *think* they were different, like the seals you found on your seperator. Maybe someone with a PET can look it up for you.

I forgot to mention...PET shows them as different sizes too. I was looking for a second opinion. Thanks shmukle

Yes, different sizes and part numbers. I just put my AOS back together last night.

Sounds good. Thanks guys. If I am going to do it, I may as well do it right. Off to HBL it is.

Cool. Better done slow and right than twice and once wrong. Let us know how it went when you're done.

Will do. I started this project some months ago, there is a thread out there somewhere, "Winter project has begun." I think that is what I titled it. No real progress has been made since Feb. Let me rephrase that, no progress has been made. I am getting the intake manifold, cam gear and shaft cover and water inlet pipe powder coated right now. It should be done any day now. I installed a ported, polished and oringed cyl head and mounted the exhaust pipes (which are heat wrapped) last week. I have sprayed the turbo down pipe and cross over pipe with ceramic paint but have been holding off installing them until I got the air/oil separator seals squared away.
