Default Steering wheel install, have a problem. . .

First, I should take pics so you guys know what I'm talking about, but I left my digital camera out in MI. I removed the airbag wheel, and have a 930s wheel which I picked up from a rennlister, that has the hub already on it. I got the old wheel off no problem, and then noticed that the 930s wheel has a big plastic tab sticking out from it, which the airbag wheel did not, there is also no hole to stick the airbag wire through. At first thought, I figured maybe I needed to disect this further, but the contact ring is exposed, and I figured that would be as far as I needed to go. I am thinking that maybe the hub that was sold to me is for a non-airbag car, maybe they are different? If someone could please shed some light on this for me, it would help a lot. Thanks!

well...with a 930s wheel...you can't have airbags naturally...so i think that both hubs might be the same. can anyone else offer some insight?

Ted-

Check out this site: Tom's S2 site
and look in the how to section. The part on airbag delete will probably answer your questions.

Good luck,

Well, I managed to get it on by removing the multi-switch. Riff- Tom's site was very helpful, and I ordered the 928 part number that he says worked on his 90 s2 and 89 turbo. He also said that for some model years it is different, so I guess we will see. It is only a 6$ part, so not much of a loss either way. I can live without a horn and turn signal return for 4-6 buisness days, lol.
