Just some thoughts.

Beru connectors are "special" because they have resistance built into them. This is important because the standard OE or Beru wires used for these cars are solid core with very little resistance.

Braided/stranded plug wires by nature have greater resistance per given length than the solid core plug wires. They do not require Beru connectors because of this. With the proper range of resistance already in the wires, the Beru connectors just become an unnecessary expense. Also, the lengths of plug wires on these cars are short enough that the slight variance in resistance from wire to wire due to differences in length will make little difference.

There is a very good, brief, explanation of why plug wires need some resistance, other than EMI suppression, in the current Grassroots Motorsports.

Wires like the ones from Magnacor are just fine. They are very durable and perform very well.

Manning, thanks for your reply,

The info that you and Andy have offered is just what I was looking for. I had been thinking of keeping my beru plugs and re-wiring them but that doesn't sound like such the hot idea at this moment. Sounds like I need to do some more research on the types of wires.

Thanks!

Michael
