Default Which Direction to Go?

Ok, the '84 944 is in great shape, nothing mechanically wrong with it so I've been working on cosmetics.

Brown Carpet needs to be dyed as its currently burgandy and is supposed to be brown. Tried "Rightlook" carpet dye and it was terriable; might as well put water on the carpet as the dye had zero effect. Any recommendations with before and after pictures; whos done this and loves it?

Steering wheel is in bad shape - should I replace with OEM for the model year or go with a cool Momo and start playen around with the interior colors. i.e. black dash cap with everything else brown? Or, do I stay pure to the year and colors. I'm leaning toward playen around, but car is totally orig. otherwise.

Give me your opinion!

Cant go wrong with a plain black Momo wheel or even a Sparco. To my mind the original wheel looks out of place in a sports car.

I've had very good success with using spray cans of "SEM color coat"..... cordovan brown #15023......to be exact about it. It can be bought at just about any decent autobody supply store, or google up SEM, and I'm sure you could probably get online. About $10.00 - $11.00 a can IIRC.
I suggest you make sure your carpets are real clean ( I use an old Hover carpet steam/water cleaner), make sure their good and dry, get a 3"-4" cheapie paint brush, and cut half the length of the bristles off with scissors (to stiffen up the brush), and start spraying it on in light coats, brushing it into the fibers as you go, let it set for approx. 30 minutes, and do another coat, and so on, and on, till your a happy camper with it. I was real happy with the results, and some sections of my carpet looked pretty faded. Sorry, no before or after pics.

I have a momo "corse" wheel on my project car, a Nardi on my "83, and the stock 4 spoke that I paid close to $200.00 to send to AGLA to get recovered. After all the horrible experience I had with them, and the cost of it, I don't like the looks of it as well as I do the Nardi and Momo. I agree, the stock looks somewhat dated, but it still is lookin good........it should after spending close to $200.00! I'll go with the Momo, or Nardi wheels, from now on.

Before and After Shots:
Not sure why, but the actual is not as red. Installing black dash cap next week. Hoping the black dash will tie things together a bit better. I think the brown/black two tone thing is gonna have to keep going to make it look right.
