Default Digital Dash Clock

Ok, Need some help.

Anyone here ever replace the digital dash clock? Hard job, or easy job?

Super easy, but an expensive replacement. Used ones sell on ebay for $150!!

im tempted to take mine out and sell it, lol. 194,000 miles, and 20 years later and it still works!!
when i first got it it didnt work, but when i was replacing interior lights i cleaned up the grounds, and replaced a fuse and all the suddent it was working again

take off the climate control panel, and most other stuff on that "line" below the dash, a screw in the temperature sensor vent, behind a trim cover on the right next to the air vent, kinda fish around, and eventually it pops off.

There's also a write up on the Pelican board, IIRC. Not a difficult job, but you have to go slowly and be careful not to break the dash components as you dismantle things. Some of the plastic parts get pretty brittle with age.

I got a replacemnt digital clock on ebay for $75; I thought that was a bit on the pricey side, but I was impatient. I don't think you'd have to pay anywhere near $150.

got my replacement clock for $51 on ebay. I hope it works, I will let you guys know. Thanks for the help.

Man that was easy! If anyone is thinking about doing this, go to ebay, get your replacment and put it in! It is not every day that something works out this easy and cheap on the S2!

Just to clarify, is the clock not working at all or is it just really dim? I almost made the mistake of replacing the entire clock on my first Porsche when on the back light was burned out. Saved me a lot of money!
