What to do......S2 or 951
Alright, I think I've finally lost it.
I picked up Legoland's 90' S2 in a trade yesterday. I think I slept about 15 minutes last night, I keep running different variations of what to do with my 944's all night.
My 951 needs a couple of things to make nearly perfect. Water pump & belts, and a good wax job.
The S2 needs a bunch of work, I'm guessing $5k to make it track worthy(budget).
Option #1: ($$$$) Keep both, use the 951 for DE and the S2 for autocross.
Pros: I get to keep both!
Cons: $$$$$$ and I can't drive them both at the same time, insurance is a killer, keeping 2 944's up will be spendy. The wife will be UNhappy that there is not a spot for her car in the garage.
Option #2: Sell the 951 and put half the proceeds into the S2, the other half for a rainy day.
Pros: I'll have a killer S2 for autocross that I can still do DE with, and have some $$$ in the bank. The wife will be happy that there is a spot for her car in the garage.
Cons: I'll miss the hell out of my pristine 951, and NO MORE BOOST!
Option #3: Sell the S2 and put half the proceeds into the 951, the other half for a yet another rainy day.
Pros:951 that will just kick *** doing DE. The wife will be happy that there is a spot for her car in the garage.
Cons: Nothing much new, still don't have a rats chance in hell of being competitive in autocross.
I'm really leaning towards #2, seems to make the most sense $$$wise and versatility.
What do you guys think?

951 -> S2 is always a step up, IMHO. 951s just really don't have the class... and they're sooo common!

If the 951 is mostly stock engine-wise (not heavily modded), then I would keep the S2. It will be almost as quick for DE's, and more flexible. Having no boost isn't a drawback if both cars end up turning nearly equal lap times.
If you have lofty plans in the near future for 400hp, keep the 951. In sheer power potential, if that's your bag, you'd want the boost. Then again, an S2 on nitrous could be fun...and that would level the playing field.
That's my opinion.

I say 2 or sam's ideal
I havn't drove my car in 1day, i allready have withdrawls, its hard to drive a turbo car when your clutch is slipping and you can only get 3-4psi of boost before all hell breaks loose.

I'll be the contrarian - KEEP THEM BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!
Your 951 is "almost perfect." Why then would you want to sell it??
Sell your wife's car!! Invest the proceeds in the 944's and let her have the S2 as a daily driver! She gets a spot in the garage too! Tell her the experience "will bring you closer together as a couple."
