Default Does this sound like CV Joints?

I guess my car is going through some springtime issues right now.

Driving at speed witht the windows down everthing sounds fine. When I come to a stop I hear what I would describe as a click, click, click sound. It is loudest when I am next to buildings or objects that the sounds can bounce off of. It seems to do it in all gears and in neutral. The faster the car is going the faster the clicking. Sounds like it is coming out of the rear passenger side. The boots on the halfshafts are split where it connects to the diff but the boots closer to the wheels are in-tact. Please advise.

if it is the CV's I will replace both halfshafts. Is it a pretty simple job?

Does the noise stop when you apply the brakes? Could be the brakes.....

If one or more of the boots are gone, then that means the grease is gone and water has gotten in there. Yes, I think it could very well be one or more of the CV joints going south on you.

Halfshafts is about a 3 (1 is opening the door, 10 is changing an engine). Get the right tool for doing it. 8mm triple square. Order the bolts aswell when you order the halfshafts. 6 per joint (24 total)

It's the CV joints......get a high quality triple square, clean the bolt heads out with brake cleaner and lightly tap the tool into the boltheads with a hammer. Now take them out, very easy. Use new bolts when you replace the halfshafts.
