Stock alarm key the same as ignition key?

you need to remove the trim, because there is a big nut that actually threads onto the outside of the cylinder holding it to the body.

i just bought a switch assy w/keys from ebay. so i'll be learning how to remove my busted switch assembly soon!

If you look closely I think you will find that the business end of the alarm key is the same type of blank. The head of the key does look different and the alarm is not the same lock as the doors & ignition but a door/ignition blank will work (assuming you have an original alarm key to copy)....

Wow! I kinda forgot about this year old posting.

I did find that the bezel trim peices are available thru Porsche dealers, and other outlets. And, they are CHEAP.

I have NOT re-keyed the alarm on my Guards Red project car yet. (Yep, sidetracked again!)

I do know, you can remove that alarm switch by popping off the bezel trim, removing the vent screen in the aft side of the door frame, (B-pillar), and grab the switch from there without removing any other panels or trim.

One day........I'll get to it. I'll hack saw it apart, and go for it!

Ken, remember the Keys are different. If and when you do order the Alarm Key Call barrier add Ask for Rocky(My old Manager) he is very knowlegbe and can help ya out. tell him your a friend of mine and he my help ya out a little on price as well. ood luck man
