I agree Tifo. If you wanna garage queen, and this is as nice as concours- get it. You'd better be able to judge concours in order to buy one.

If you wanna drive it, pass on by.

How many times has a 924/931/924S ever taken a concours? AFAIK never. no matter HOW clean.

For 3500- I'd bite.
Thats because they arent using the secret sauce. I have an underground plan to get you into the winners circle for Taj in the waterpumper class. First thing we need is about 1500 Q-Tips. We can do this.

IMHO 9500 is high. IIRC someone posted an article from excellence about what 931's are worth IIRC the highest price for Mint or good (the highest quality) was $5000.

I think that it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. There can't possibly be more than a few left in all original, truly mint, low miles condition. There isn't really a market value for such cars -- it's a matter of finding one of the few interested buyers who is willing to pay top dollar. Even AMC Pacers and the like go for shocking money relative to average examples when they are truly time capsule cars. Bruce Anderson's "Excellent" rating does not cover cars in this condition. I would also imagine that he hardly gets any data anymore on 931s -- how many are left and being traded among readers of Excellence?

OTOH, the owner left it sitting out in the rain unattended when you went to see it? How good is it really?

You're right. And, Jason's (jason85944) 924S won the 924/944 division at the 2003 VW/Porsche Reunion Concours. That car is now owned by Fishey here on the BBS.
