Default Meguires Products RULE

Bought some #2 fine cut cleaner, #6 machine glaze, and #9 swirl remover. Used 2 and 6 on the car tonight. Spent about 3-4 hours on the hood. Got about 90% of the oxidation off, looks good and deep, shines great. Highly recommend these products. The #2 should be used with a rotary buffer, but with a couple of applications using an orbital polisher, you can still get good results. Sorry, no pics though.

I really like their leather cleaner too. Leaves a nice shine, without the slippery feeling.

I love their wax. I use cleaner wax first, then a coat of the "yellow" wax. It looks great.

I really like their color rx combo polish wax, it's great for removing light oxidation. Followed up w/ a coat of yellow, it's stunning.

If you haven't tried Meguire's NXT liquid wax, it's amazing stuff. Very easy to apply, doesn't chalk up or leave flaky crap everywhere. It shines very well and lasts a longer than most.

I use that stuff and I found that Rain-X wax is great stuff too. I figured that if rain-x can do that to windows, why not to paint. I love that stuff. I'm sort of torn between that and the NXT wax now. I'll use either - whatever is cheaper that day.

The VW has Rain-x wax on it in my sig pic.

I love Meguiars stuff. I've tried a few other products, but to my eyes, few things look as rich as the Meguiars.

Macfreak where do you get your 3M stuff? None of my local stores seem to carry it.

The paint determines the threshold of improvement, not the products. If your cars paint can only achieve a 7, you are wasting money buying stuff designed for car with a flawless paint job (10).

On some cars, a can of turtle is the way to go. If your paint is the big-time however, you need the good stuff. By good stuff, the only stuff mentioned I would put on a good paint job is the 3M.

Oxidation is a beeyotch. At this point however you are getting away from true polishes and more into rubbing compounds.

Nxt is good stuff, but you probably shouldn't use it on fading paint. It has a cleaner built in which takes a lot of paint off.
