Non-airbag glove box door / arms different than airbag door/arms?
I just tried mounting a glovebox door from an '87 951 into a non-airbag dash. The door does not want to close, although it can be shoved to at least catch the latch, but not sit flush. Does anyone know if the doors are different, or is it just the arms? Is it possible to buy the non-airbag metal replacement arms and retrofit them onto the '87 door, or do I need to find a matching non-airbag glove box door?

There are two different part numbers for airbag and non airbag glove box doors. The arms show up as being an integral part to the doors, so I dont think you can get them separately through a dealer at least. And the hinge assembly is the same for both doors.
Good Luck.

paragon has the metal arms... I think they have them for both types. They are a little pricey for what they are (stamped metal hooks), but they go in easy and they will NEVER need to be replaced again.

I did indeed get it all back together. The only outstanding issues are that the radio and turn signals are MIA, and of course the glovebox door does not want to shut. Otherwise, it's looking pretty good and was creak and rattle free on the way home.
Anyone know if the '87 airbag glovebox door would work with the non-airbag supports in a non-airbag dashboard?
