Default the S2 LIVES!!!

So, if any of yous don't remember: I bought the 89 S2 almost exactly 1 month ago, and it ran fine, but decided to service it before something bad happened, so... I changed the: timing belt, balance belt, all the rollers/ idlers, water pump, hoses, coolant, cam-chain, chain-tensioner, spark plugs and oil. While it was down, I powder coated the distributer/cam pully housing (mercedes silver) and the valve cover (textured black). Its now off the lift and in good running condition. Special Thanks to Steve (kuhl951) for letting me borrow his special tools even though the pin spanner had to be 'alligned' with a few light slams.

The car seems to have picked up an electronic ghost, the cruise control is being 'finicky' and I need to sort that out now.

I just wish the paint wasn't so cloudy

I finally remembered where I saw your car before. Do you remember a madman making a left turn from Sunrise to Fair Oaks in a garnet red 944? :-D

Thanks, it was a PITA sorting through the wealth of misinfromation, and contredicting instructions (even from "reputable sources") for S2 service.

It was nice seeing your car today in person, you really got a deal I considering the good condition it's in. I leave the house for a short grocery run and come back to find two 944's sitting in front of my house, along with two more of mine. I had to check and see if they renamed my street Woody Lane. I'm glad you met Serge. Anyway you have a beautiful car Dan and congrats on your foresight to get the serious stuff taken care of first.

Good job getting that ever important maintenance done. But really now, how much did your dad help. Probably his lift, huh?
