I have brought my 944S back to life! Well, Delta V Motorsports in Richmond Va did that is...

She is mean and nasty and running like a Porsche should. Next step is paint and then she is back in Delta V for a supercharger.

I am planning to have about 300WHP when we are finished with her. Jeff is a very very competent and knowledgeable mechanic. He found SO many things others had missed. He brought my 944S back to life when I had all but given up. God bless Jeff!!! Delta V Motorsports is THE BEST 944 shop I have been able to find. I will post all of the repairs he made next post, but let's just say he fixed ALOT and charged me VERY LITTLE.

I am again, a happy Pcar driver. Soon, I will be even happier with my blown Pcar!

Good to be back.

Pete

PS, I told Rob years ago that I would make insane power with this car, now is the time to prove myself right!

Hope your still around Rob and remember me!

300whp can hardly be called insane!

What is "very little" to you? How much did you pay???????

I paid under 2300 for control arms, axles, total new ignition system, a ton of diagnositc, test pipe, custom exhaust work, tons of lines and such(vacuum lines) welding work on a broken sway bar mount, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember.

300HP IS insane when you consider it is at the rear wheels and the car started life off with only 188. Not to mention that is only with a 5PSI pulley....

Hope I don't disappoint you there....

Where and when? We are getting paint estimates now and working on a good wheel refinisher. I have Gotti 3 piece wheels that are 16 inches and very nice. They fit the car very well, filling up the wheel wells completely and they are era correct as well. Ill post pics in a few weeks if I go with one shop, and in about 3 months if I go another route. Also a GT Racing CF hood for her, a Fiberwerks front end and a 951 rear valence. She will look as awesome as she runs soon enough!

If anyone knows a good strip it down to the bare metal and spray it correctly body shop in Ric Va area let me know.

And BTW, she doesn't leak a DROP of oil. Tight as hell engine.

You know that for 300whp the engine needs to make close to 400? This must be one heck of a free flowing engine to only require 5psi to generate almost 400hp, or the red line must be somewhere in the upper stratosphere!

Also, why only 5psi? To only want 5psi is hardly worth custom building an engine. A decently built engine should handle a minimum of 15psi, 20-up would be the proper boost level.

MichellJD...... the car is not N/A..... next time, read the entire post .

Not sure I want to be running 15-2PSI through the engine. There has been a pretty good bit of work done on it when it was rebuilt. Head work, microebeaded the whole engine, and porting is coming up next.

I am thinking about cams as well for the "upper stratosphere" redline, just not sure if I can afford all of that just yet. It is a stretch for me to do as much as I am doing right now.

I will keep you all updated as we progress. Next is paint and body work. WHich could take up to 3 months as we are going to have it done correctly and remove everything except the engine. The interior will be most ly gone, the glass will all come out, all weather stripping and rubber is to be replaced. I just wish I could come up with a solution for the rear spoiler. It is pretty dried out and I dont want to spend a bank on a new one. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks again.

Nice.

I would kill to see the dyno chart - to see how the power is with the blower and the "S" head - of which I have 2 on my bench.

If your plan on running high prms, you will need to change the valve springs to something alot stiffer.

If the engine is built properly 15-20 psi would be normal. Sounds like you are trying to modify everything all at once. That's not the way to do this. Only one part at a time. This way you can adjust and monitor how every additional part works with the engine.

Your mechanic just got the car running perfect and now you will rip it all apart to paint it?????? When a car is being restored, souldn't paint come first??
