Default 968 spindles on a 944?

Can this be done? I've got a lead on 968 spindles and would be interested in possibly putting these on the Callaway car (early '85). If it's not possible, could I potentially do a 3-way swap - putting the 968 ones on the turbo and then the turbo ones on the 944 n/a?

TIA.

Yes they will bolt right on a 944 N/A. I did this to my car and used the 4 POT brakes. This, in my mind is the best way to upgrade brakes and you don't have to use adapters. You will need the corret front struts for the car.

WOOOOPS - just read that you putting these on a early 944. This is probably more difficult. You may need to use AL front A-Arms and relocate the rear A-Arm mount.

How do you drive the speedo since the later spindles don't have the through hole for the cable?

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts

swapping the 968 spindles onto the '86 951 is not that simple either...
nor the '86 951 spindles onto the '85 per Hugh's question, although, with the help of a good machine shop...(but at least the '85 and '86 offset is the same)
and BUMP

Hey Tom, I agree it is not that simple - I mis-read the model of 944 he was working on. It is simple for 87s and up. I apoligize.

In either case, you'd need the longer A-arms too:
