Not to sound like a dweeb, but why do this?
Duh. Because they CAN!

You may as well ask mtn climbers why they climb rocks!

Is it just me, or does that engine take up WAY less room than the stock 4?

First time I've ever seen a side-view mirror mounted on a 44 like that.

That is one of the cleanest swaps I've seen. Nice. From what I can see it looks like they...
- relocated the steering rack to in front of the 3.6ltr, and up some.
- cut the whole front off and reconfigured the engine mounts - do ya think - wow
- turbocharged it!
- mounted the dry oil sump in the battery location!
- the rear (right only side) aluminium under diffuser must be to help evacuate hot turbo air from the front.

Imagine how this sounds on full song... gesh.

I know, they had a slightly rusty battery box and decided to do this conversion, yaa that's it.

I was wondering the same thing. Screw LS1 V8 swaps, I want this at least it still has a porsche engine in it. That is a very well put together swap hopfully someone can get more infor on it.

Looks to me that it's twin turboed. Possibly a 993 twin?? Hmmm, why swap, well, 600hp is no biggie with that motor.

WOW!! But really, some of the die hard Porsche guys still won't call it a "REAL" Porsche because the motor is still in the wrong part, has to be in the back.
