Default Fan Relay?

This is on my 88 924s

Yesterday, I was driving home in the rain and I started hearing a clickety-click from under the dash, like an electrical circuit opening/closing rapidly.

Now, the extra cooling fan will come on randomly and will run non-stop until I put the key in, turn the power on and then turn it off and remove the key. Eventually, the fan will come back on for no reason. Several times last night I went out to the garage and the fan was on, hours after the car had cooled down. I pulled the fuse for now.

Does this sound like a fan relay or temp switch?
