BTW, anybody who thinks Porsche did a great job with everything should talk with the folks who have lost wheels at the track because the balljoints bind.

I have the pulleys Albert Broadfoot sells. Nice quality, took forever to get them once ordered. I only run the alternator and crank pulleys, obviously. I see the volts drop from 14 to 12 sometimes at traffic lights, especially when I have the light cannons on.

Your weak alternator would need to be addressed...I'm in the same boat.

Not sure about the difference in pulleys, I should have it figured out in a few days.

These UR pulleys include BOTH pieces of the crank pulley, for that one price, so they would be substantially cheaper than Broadfoot's pulleys which are listed seperately at something like $165 and $79 for each ($244).

I enjoy the UR pulleys on my other car, I emailed them a few days about about getting a set made, if you can get a large enough run maybe they will do 2 lines a lightend pulley set and then a lightened underdrive pully set( Ultra Sc and Ultra S, respectivly for the names of their lines)

here is what they said

Sorry for the slow reply. Your request is doable. We used to offer a two piece crank pulley kit for the 944 but unfortunately sales were fairly weak. Your cost would run approx. $200 per kit if it was based off the two piece crank pulley we used to sell.

Thanks for your question,

Hi Shawn,

Is there anyway to get you guys to develop a set for the 944/968 series porsches? Perhaps if a group buy was made to cover the development costs?

Let me handle the dealings with UR...my company is one of their biggest dealers. The pulleys will NOT be $200, I was on the phone with Shawn just today!

I look forward to it, If you could get them to make a lightened set that is not underdrive that would be really cool , it would benefit anyone running a HID kit or a big system or both...

I agree they didn't but as far as the way they went with the engine.. either we're all idiots and are missing something obvious, or all the cheap HP increasing techniques have been done from the factory. you cna get more out of it, but its $$$$$$

I would be in for a set. Just to clarify, this kit would be a set of pulleys similar to the Broadfoot set, 4 pcs, 2 for the Crank and then the reciprical pulley on both the Alternator and the PS pump? Also would we need to also source shorter belts for both systems?

I'd buy a set as long as they fit the '88 924S, which I think they should.

RIFF: No...this would be the 2-pc crank pulley ONLY! They didn't have any other applications.

LEMMING: Yes, 924S should fit since it's the same engine.

I'll keep you posted.
