I've seen a RUF 944 Turbo on the net, not sure if it was the real deal tho. I do like the 1993 and 25cc thing tho, should be a pretty rare car then huh?

No body kit from RUF for the 944's or 951's.
RUF's shop does maintenance on various p-cars for customers, including 944's, but they have never made a RUF 944 or 951.
That yellow "RUF 951" in France that you are thinking about Andy is a fake. Not real.
If you guys want proof, pick up the phone and call RUF.

FYI ... RUF has a facility in the US, right here in Dallas TX. RUF North America But I don't think they "do" 944s.

RUF Dallas
Hey someone go take a picture of your 951 at the RUF dealership and then put it on ebay as a RUF 951...that would have more validity than that Euro/US rear bumper funkster.

I can't decide wether the guy selling the car is being less than honest or maybe he is just miss guided ? According to the add the car was imported from Japan to the UK last year and was registered in 93, It looks to me like this 1985/86 951 was imported from the US or Canada probably in 93 and on arrival in the land of the rising sun its previous history has been mislaid.
Subsequently one of its owners has tinted the windows, slapped a Ruf badge on its rump and then sold it, probably when it failed the tough annual test all cars have to go through in Japan.
Next step with a lot of older cars in Japan is to ship them abroad, easier to do this and more cost effective than bring them into line with the goverment tests.
I suspect this car is more "Rough" than Ruf.
