Unhappy Need some Help...Car won't start

I have everything hooked up....but when I turn it over it will crank and then back fire...then just crank. I have no clue why it's doing this, I thought it may have been because my exhaust wasn't hooked up but I bolted it on and still nothing. I really need it running cause I start afternoons next week and won't be able to take my mom's car anymore. I hate to have to haul it to a shop, but I need a car. Any one have any clue why it's doing this? If anyone can stop over I can pay ya for your troubles! Thanks guys!!!!

ditto what he said. Check where they connect behind the intake manifold on the firewall. They tend to become brittle and break apart.
