Default How much is an 85/1 parts/project car worth

I know this is a difficult ? A man who belongs to the same hunt club as I do owns a gas station/repair facility and has an early 85 thats been sitting a couple of years. I think it was towed in w/ electrical issues and was never fixed for some reason. He has a salvage title for it and is tired of looking at it. I offered to get some infomation for him on the value. Car is located in NJ. Body is not too bad but the interior is pretty trashed. Four cookie cutters w/ old tires. All glass intact. 5 speed. Sunroof. Black.

Any input appreciated.
Thanks, MW

$500 to $1000 at best. Without knowing if the motor works or if the trans is good, that is going off the *hope* that there are at least a few parts including the wheels that can be rolled over for some cash. Especially if the interior is trashed. Could even be on the low end of that figure.

I bought an '85 in 1996 that had been rolled (14-year-old driver). It was in Oklahoma and I was in Washington (state). I paid $1000 for it over the Web, and a little less than $1000 or so to fly down, bang/duct tape it together, and drive it back. While not cheap, it was an excellent "adventure".

Seemed to be a good idea at the time ...

I love my early '85 but if it's in rough shape and with a salvage title, it's pretty much worthless. I'd say it'd make a fantastic track car project though!

Slim to none in value as an actual car.
But as a parts puker...some value.
Only worth your time if you like tearing things apart and seeing how the German engineers thought when they put these together. Then sell the parts.
