Default The Start of a long process

Well I pulled the clutch out today, only took around 2 hours! I'm gonna get the head off tommorrow for a new gasket, to my knowledge it's the original and has seen quite a bit of abuse. then I'm gonna try to get my new oil pan gasket and motor installed one day this week after work. I still don't have a transmission yet. I drove all the to the PA jersey border hunting mochman and never did find him. I've got a new centerforce dual friction clutch to go in thanks to Pauerman who made a nice deal on it. It's gonna be a few weeks process but hopefully rewarding! I'm trying to decide If I should just go ahead and pull the motor or do the HG and OPG gasket in the car. It would be nice if it was out so I could pressure wash everything. Any suggestions? Thanks

Pull it. Aside from it being a time saver, it makes work so much easier. And as you said, you can get in and clean it up. Pull the motor and do it all on the ground.

Another vote for removing it. You'll be alot happier with it on an engine stand...especially when doing the oil pan gasket.

Pull it. I was in this same spot a few weeks ago.

I had the head off, oil pan off, belts and rollers off in like 2 unrushed unhurried hours with the engine on a stand.

I agree...pull it as you'll have so much more access....and as you suggest, cleaning it while hanging from a hoist is really easy.
