Default My 944 Drift Pictures from this week.

Just thought I'd share a few pictures of my car at a drift event up here in Nothern California. NASA is doing their US Drift events and this was a private event to test out their first one.

How do your CV joints hold up to this type of driving?

Never had a problem with my CV joints. I did have a problem with my rear wheel bearings until I converted to a later style rear trailing arm. I think that problem was mainly from the bigger wheels.

Did you cord that tire before or after the drifting?

Looks like you did a good job chewing up your tires there! I'm currious about the dash you've got in there though. Is that a fully custom set of gauges you put in?

After about 2 hours of straight abuse those tires finally gave up on me. They were Khumo 712's. I then bought some used Bridgestone S03's (barely used) for $15 Each, drove down the street and had them mounted and balanced for $30. $60 for rear tires mounted and balanced, what a steal .

My car is an early car and I did a new style dashboard in it. So I did all autometer gauges. I've got a Tach, speedo, Gas and temp. Not gas pressure but actual gas.

The last two drift event's i've been too, people have been selling used tires. usually about $30-50 for two.

I have seen it asked before, but never found the answer, where did you get that hood scoop. At first glance I didn't like it, but damn it grew on me. Must be the residual Subaru in me.

Junkyard baby! It was only $40 at Parts heaven. There was a 924 or 944 with a fiberglass hood and I just unbolted it off.

I'm curious as to how you hooked up the gauges? Are you still using the DME and KLR?

The hood scoop is a replica 924 Carrera GT hood scoop in the wrong spot.

Awesome pictures! Your car looks beautiful in action. I'm a big drifting enthusiast and it's always cool to see one of our cars keeping it slideways! Maybe one of these days I can afford to build a drift car, that would be fun! But until then, my 944 is going to spare its tires. I'm sure some people here aren't familiar with drifting as a motorsport, and might not understand its purpose as such. Keep it countersteered, Ryan!
