Default Obstruction in fuel lines?

My fuel pump sounds a bit noisy. I could replace it with a new one, but I suspect the noise is caused by excessive load on the pump, not the pump itself. I recently installed new FPR, in-tank filter and regular filter.

Is there another filter that could be clogged?, e.g. in the fuel return line, etc?

Could a bad fuel pressure dumpner cause this problem?
I guess it would be smart to check the fuel pressure, but I don't know how to get the fitting for the fuel rail. If someone came with a simple (meaning without breaking the bank) solution to attach a pressure gauge (even just for a brief test), please post it!

Chip from paragon posted about this some time back. Maybe it was a Stewart Warner fitting, available from Racer Parts Wholesale or something.

I think I paid $12 for the adapter to 1/8", that would accomodate a standard fuel pressure gauge.

Thanks Kevin, I looked at the web page of Racer Parts Wholesale, and they also have a cheap ($28)electric sender for fuel! I could install it permanently (and safely)! Is it the combination you used? I'm not sure if there is enough room to mount it at the end of the fuel rail, but I could probably get a 90 deg bend when I convert the fitting to imperial.

All I purchased was the brass 1/8" to 12x1.5mm adapter so that I could use a normal fuel pressure gauge (one that is not permanently installed) to check the pressure at the end of the rail.

If you wanted a permanent setup, many other folks have done it here using a different adapter and 1/8" mechanical gauge on the end of the rail.

...coming back to my original question, is there a filter or a similar device in the fuel return line between the fuel rail and the tank?
