Default Pocono Raceway April 10th weekend

Hey everyone, I was visiting family this past weekend and had the chance to visit pocono raceway. New Jersey region was running there. Was anybody from the rennlist racing there? There were alot of fast cars. I only got to talk to a coupe people before my time was up and I had to leave.

Yes, I was there with NNJR. To clarify: it was not a race, it was a Driver's Ed event.

I was the red 944S2 #142 running in Black with all those pesky cup cars and modified nine-elebben's.

Z-man as soon as I saw your picture in the reply I remember seeing you run. Your car was flippin' fast. I was there on saturday. Do you know who was driving that 944 with the green and orange wheels? That car was ugly but it was smokin the turns. Was it a turbo car I'm not real good with all the models yet. A couple of the 911's looked like nobody could catch them. I could really see the speed difference when they were on the straight along the far wall. I hope someone can post some pictures so i can show my buddies at work.

porshaowner - thanks for the kind words. I was pedalin' as fast as I could! My car's a non-turbo 16v S2 - stock everything. Hoping to freshen up my suspension soon!

The guy with the black 944 with the orange/green wheels is a club racer - while I have ~50 hp on his 2.5l 944 n/a, he put me to shame in the corners! (I suspect that he had some suspension upgrades - I hope! )

You can see a couple of pictures from the event HERE. Pictures are posted towards the bottom of the thread.

Hope to see you out there soon too! It is about the most fun you can have with your clothes on!!

I went past that 944 with the colored wheels on I-476 on Sunday, around 12:30 I think. I've seen that car around Macungie.

Z-Man thanks for the link to the pictures. I looked underneath that car when it was in the garage area. The rear shocks were black in color with no coilover, thats all I could see, and it still had a full interior. Uranium235 do you know anything else about that car. It was just so awsome to see how fast some of these cars were. If that was just a drivers ed. I can't wait until I get to see a race.

944CS, see my sig

I'm usually in my Suburban, burgundy/silver. The Platinum 944 is in many pieces and the grey 944 doesn't get out much, although that will change now that the weather is getting better.

I think the car in question is related to Phil's Garage, although I do not know the details.

Unfortunately, no. NNJR DE events (as with all DE events) do not allow timing equipment to be used on the track. I did not have a camera in the car so I have no way of calculating lap times.

I will be back at Pocono in the fall for the NNJR "Porscherama" event where there will be a time trial on the North course, as well as an autocross on the East Course, and some open lapping on the south course! It will truly be a three ringed circus! I'll post my times then.

[shameless ego plug]
That said, I believe I turned the fastest laps on the North course I ever did this past weekend. Passed a few friends of mine that used to pass me, even lap me on that course! Amazing how much faster you can go when you use the middle pedal less!

It's going to take more than just car mods - the driver of the car is a very talented driver.

Z-man, you are right, not sure who was driving at the time but whoever it was knows how to drive, although thats not the only reason it was fast....the quart bottle intake on the left front fender is why that car runs so good

944CS, I have a Gemini Grey '83 that sometimes shows up in town and my friend, the PO of the grey car, has a red '86 951 he's usually tooling around in. He's also got a black '83, but that does not come out often.
