I've wanted to do this as well. I think to do a good one you'll need to put some filler panels just forward of the rear axle. Biggest things I see getting in the way are the exhaust and spare tire well.

I do not have either of those in my way.I spare tire well has been removed and my exhaust goes out the side. I am thinking of having the exhaust dump out through the diffuser some how.

Sounds like a pretty cool idea! I'd still like to see a non-adjustable 968 T wing...Do you still have plans on making something like that?

Were you planning on making the difusor for sale? I agree with the other guys, in order for it to really work, the air flowing under the car needs to be channeled to the diffusor area. With your skills, have you considered making an underbody tray to clean up the airflow? It would be a much bigger project, but thats something that practically no one has and a number of people might want (and those who would want it would likely be willing to pay a good amount for a well designed peice). Given the stuff you've made so far, I think it would be entirely within your ability to do.

All in all, I like all of the custom things you've done, so keep em coming, and start offering them for sale! (cough 968 turbo wing cough)

Any pics of this? I'm thinking of removing my spare tire well as well and was wondering how it looked.

Also never heard of anyone doing a side exhaust on a 944 and was wondering how/why you did this.

I cut out the spare tire well and put on a light weight bumper from Gt racing.
Why out the side mainly for the weight savings.my whole exhaust from header back weighs only 11 pounds.
This is a track only car.
Total weight of the car is under 2100 pounds.
