Yeah, in case no one has bothered to look, there is a diagram of the hoses on the passenger side of the engine bay near the power steering reservoir.

What if the decal is for an '83 8V but your engine is an S2...? Any help, or should I just find as many as I can?

yea i noticed.... that the diagragm is @$$ backwards and the routing is nothing like the hoses actually run! it must be a generic picture because some of the stuff is different. like i said... get out the crayons and color you a picture. don't forget the hoses under the intake. you will have to remove the intake manifold to replace them.

It's a vacuum map- not a diagram. Replace one at a time and you'll be fine.Intake removal is not necessary- route them underneath as need be.

hey chris, there are some emission hoses that are operated from the vacuum of the engine. i am not at home to name the parts that i am talking about....but there are four pre formed large vacuum hoses under the intake that will dry rot, crack and need to be replaced. if you are only talking about the tiny ones that connect the throttle body and the fuel regulators and stuff you are correct. there is absolutely no way to replace the large ones under the intake without removing it. i tried..

My local parts store only carries SAE sized hoses, not metric (Autozone, Kragen). Does Napa sell metric vac lines?

And what size is most used on the 944, the little 3.5mm ID stuff? I think I have a couple feet of that in my garage somewhere.

I just went and bought the size that felt snug on the FPR. They werent super tight so I zip tied each one on to keep it from flying off.

I got them from the dealer. At first I tried a couple made from hoses I got at a parts store, but they weren't strong enough and I noticed one of them had collapsed. You'll need to remove the intake manifold to do the job, but it's well worth it.

I just did a turbo the other day, and didn't have any silicone line on hand, but oreilly auto parts had some nice black silicone line for about a buck a foot. Fit very well.

Just going from what I have read. I have only done the change out on my S and it took me 20 minutes. I thought on the turbos you needed to remove the intake and that there are many more lines than the non turbo cars.

They were in stock, even though the guy at the counter wasn't the friendliest person I've dealt with.

944.110.217.00 - $14.45
944.110.214.01 - $10.98
944.107.187.01 - $17.84

There is another vac line with a metal piece inside, mine was fine so I didn't get that one. Same goes for the one running over to the brake booster. I know one of the three is the short, S shaped one that runs below the intake manifold. The other two, I don't remember which they were. The hose running from the air box to the belt cover I was told on here is no longer needed. They may be a few $$ cheaper online, but this gave me a good excuse to go see the shiny new models in the show room while getting parts I needed.
