I guess it is a long haul to get south of Melbourne... I certainly agree that the 'arial ping-pong' is not rugby! I was lucky enough to see a couple of Broncos games whilst in Brisbane....

Thumbs up

beeg,
I love this post, kinda like the travel channel of the Rennlist (oh ****, another great idea!).

Geeze, how many people recognize the make of your car???

I did a little walk about with a Rav4 north of Melbourne. Hundreds of miles of white sand beaches, excellent weather, and slowing for a pack of 'roos crossing me at sun set........priceless! Cheers mate
The amount of land out there is IMENSE, so of course I overshot a petrol stop and had to return to town at about 17:30. Went to the local tavern (I was kinda thirsty, damnit!), talked to station owner to perhaps get a little petrol but but he was busy winning a dart tournement. I sucked down a couple of the local's finest and slept in the Rav.
I'll post a couple of pic's.

Last night was the first night shift that I had my 944 parked outside Staff Entry at work. Amazing how many people offered to drive it home for me and 'perhaps' return it tomorrow! LOL
On the way home at 0400 i switched off the stereo and closed the windows just so I could listen to the car. Bliss.
If (and unfortunately when) this thing breaks, I am going to be devestated.
Going to go for a drive to Port Douglas next week. Lots of winding roads and long straights. Beautiful Scenery. Will have to steal sons camera again to take some more travel shots. LOL
I luv my car!!!!!!!!

HI Mike,
I am another Aussie, living in Brisbane, and your trip sounds awesome. I have just bought a 85 944, for the princely sum of $12,500. To my mind it was a bargain, the last owner has spent over $21,000 on it over 4 years. Yes to our American cousins, our cars are expensive over here in Australia. Small price I say for free health care. Enough said, I have had the car for two weeks, my question now, the "non working A/C" in the car. What has been people's experience in getting working again. Is it worth it?

I still check in here once in a while... It was worth it for me to get it working again since I used it as a daily driver (also resale value). I did the work myself and so the cost/benefit ratio might be different for you. I used R-12, which I was able to purchase on fleabay so I can't comment on how well it would work with R-134. Good luck with the car!
Cheers.
