Default Rear hatch unlocks

I have a 1986 944 n/a. Lately everytime I unlock the driver's door to enter the car, the hatch lock on the driver's side opens as well and the hatch releases on the driver's side only. I don't think this is suppose to happen. Any ideas??
Thanks

Is it actuating the motor or do you think it's the cabin pressure of opening the door that is popping a hatch pin that is out of adjustment?

I think Andy's right on the money here: mis-adjusted hatch pin. Lengthen the pin so that it goes a bit farther in the hole. Often the catches wear out and the pin won't catch even properly adjusted. If that's the case here, try bending the pin just off-center a little bit. I've had to do that to all of my hatch pins on my cars. Bend it just enough to solidly engage the catch...not so far that it won't release with the motor.

Good luck!

Oh yeah...this may seem elementary, but I see it all the time: Make sure your catches are clean and adequately lubed so they're engaging/dis-engaging properly.

the pin may break when you try to lengthen it if it's rusted.
