since it's a 4dr, would it still be considered a sports car? if not would the insurance rate be lower? well since it a porsche would it matter?

I don't know if I'd want that to be the final production design, but I do think it's a classy concept...much more so than an SUV...

It's one step closer to getting me excited about a new Porsche for the first time in 19 years.

I'm hoping it's a big success so they decide to do a 2-door version!

Possibly one with a 4-cyl turbo, pop-up headlights and a squeaky rear hatch!

OK, not the last part. I already have that.

I can't speak for Ferrari, as I truly don't know. But the 4 Door Lamborghini Portofino was a Chrysler induced concept car that, thankfully, never made it into production. It actually featured a hybrid nose badge that was a blend of the Lamborghini shield and the Dodge pentastar. This was, IMO, Chrysler's way of flexing their muscles after the purchase of Lamborghini back in the 80's.

The Ferrari 4 door was a design study known as the "Pinin" by Pininfarina, naturally. A rather nice looking, if not large by Ferrari standards, automobile. IIRC it was made into a driveable car some years ago and is in Belgium.

Ugh. I personally find that ugly, but I know opinions vary.

Here's a page with the Portofino, http://www.lamborghiniregistry.com/Portofino/

It's kinda funny, but if you look at the side shot of the car, it sorta looks like a modern day Intrepid.

** edit ** I just read the description on that page, and the styling of the Intrepid was based on the Portofino concept car.

That Lambo is hideous. Someone should have told Dodge that the stealth guys chuck that wing in favor of the much nicer 3000GT unit

The Ferrari is nice, I would love to have that.

I didn't even notice the 'Stealth' like wing until you mentioned it. Don't get me wrong, read my original reply that mentions the Portofino, I'm glad it never went into production, I hated it when it first appeared in the magazines. But it is interesting to look at that car, and then look at the newer Chrysler lines and see what's been taken from it.

The car overall looks very much like the Stealth and Intrepid. Interesting that so much came from it (or vise versa). However, it is still hideous

This Maserati is a nice car. I saw one one the road the other day. An absolute beauty. I'd be happy if the new Porsche measured up to this.
