Thanks guys. Question, though: Aren't these Porsche-script seats vinyl??? I forgot to ask the guy and I'm not much of a materials person myself.

Yes, that's vynil; and yes, $160 is a good price. The work involved in disassembling the seat, removing the cover, cutting new sections, stitching it together, and reassembling everything is more than it may look like. And it takes a bit of skill/experience and/or proper equipment to have smooth, straight, evenly-spaced stitches, and to make the upholstery fit smoothly on the cushion without any wrinkles/binding/tight spots.
I always get a chuckle when I read e-bay ads where they say something like "the seat isn't torn - it just needs to be re-stitched," or "seats aren't bad - just a few split seams that can easily be restitched."![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

I spent over $1,600 on mine, but that was with all-new OE Porsche pads and leather covers. They look awesome and they're absolute heavenly bliss for my ***, but if you have a guy that can do a good job with vinyl that sounds like a great deal. Just make sure the pads are in good condition - it makes no sense to put fresh material over worn / destroyed pads as it will stretch and tear.

Jeff - would you happen to have sport seats in your car, and if so, would you happen to have a source for new cushions? The later interior style sport seat cushions are NLA from Porsche, and I am looking for just one lower cushion.

just had my sons's seats in his 86 na redone in vinyl for 320.00 for the pair. They look great and he had them done two tone. So 160.00 for the repair doesn't sound too bad. It is as much work to repair as it is to re-upolster the seat.

That sounds about right to me. As a data point, I got one of the bolsters (denoted with the arrow in the picture) on my leather passenger seat replaced and a seam at the front of the same bolster on the driver's side restitched for $225 last year. The color and material match with the burgundy interior is basically spot on. I'm sure they can achieve the same with black vinyl easily.

No, mine are standard seats although the upholstery shop built up the bolsters a little bit with some extra padding. Not much, but a little bit. I think Pelican has the pads but they're unholy expensive.

Here's a question for y'all: What are the "technical" terms when referring to different parts of our seats? Like the "bolster", for example (thanks for the pic KLR!). On the picture of my seat at the top what do you call those two side panels? Just "side panels"? lol
